Configuring Automated Turndown Service Generation
This article guides Optii Champions and Manager users through configuring the Optii system to automatically generate Turndown Service jobs based on specific room statuses, room types, and guest profiles, ensuring efficient nightly service allocation.
Understanding Turndown Automation
The Turndown automation feature allows you to automatically create Turndown Service jobs once per day, targeting the rooms that require housekeeping nightly service based on your occupancy and arrival guests within your day operations.
Configuration Options:

Enable Turndown for Occupied rooms:

This option generates a Turndown job for any room that currently has an Occupied status.

Enable Turndown for Vacant rooms with Arrival:

This option generates a Turndown job for any room that is currently Vacant but has an expected Arrival scheduled for the day.

Step-by-Step Configuration Guide
Follow these steps to automate the generation of Turndown jobs:

Access Settings:

Navigate to the main Settings menu in Optii.

Go to Job Settings:

Under the section titled Configuration and Rules, click on Job Settings.

Locate Turndown Automation:

Find the section related to Turndown automation.

Select Target Room Statuses:

Select the status options that determine which rooms receive a Turndown job:

Check the box for Enable Turndown for Occupied rooms.

Check the box for Enable Turndown for Vacant rooms with Arrival.

Set the Automation Time:

This is the time the Ius system will execute the automation and generate the jobs. You will need to select the desired time in the appropriate field.

⏰ Recommendation: We recommend setting the Turndown Automation to generate jobs around 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM, or at least one hour before the Turndown attendants are scheduled to arrive. This allows ample time for coordinators, managers to prepare the allocation and assign the Turndown jobs efficiently.

Filter by Room Criteria (Optional):

You can refine which rooms receive the Turndown job based on criteria synced from the PMS:

Room Type: Restrict Turndown jobs to specific room categories (e.g., Suites only).

VIP: Target specific VIP levels (e.g., generate for VIP levels 1 and 2 only). Market and Special Codes: Use specific codes (e.g., packages, corporate accounts) to include or exclude rooms.
