Check Jobs — Rules & Expected Behaviour

What is a Check Job?

Question Answer
What is the purpose of a Check job? A Check job in Optii is a validation task created when Optii receives conflicting information—specifically, when a PMS status update is CLEAN, but the room still has a DIRTY status or an open Cleaning job in Optii.
What action does a Check job require? The Check job requires the user (housekeeper or supervisor) to confirm if the room is genuinely clean or not, aligning Optii's status with the physical state of the room.
What is the immediate result of a Check job creation? All Check tasks (whether system-automated or manually created) flip the room to Pickup (PU) status.
How does PU status reflect in the PMS?

* The room will flip to PU status in OPERA PMS and SNT PMS.

* For any other PMS, the room will typically flip to DIRTY status.

Generic Check Task Creation Cases (PMS Status Conflicts)
Original Status Change Expected Optii Action
VD > VC (Vacant Dirty to Vacant Clean) The associated cleaning job is CANCELED, and a Check job is CREATED to confirm the room status.
VD > VI (Vacant Dirty to Vacant Inspected) The associated cleaning job is CANCELED, and the VI status is ACCEPTED (no Check job is created).
VC > VD (Vacant Clean to Vacant Dirty) The associated inspection job is CANCELED, and a Cleaning job is CREATED.
VI > VD (Vacant Inspected to Vacant Dirty) A Cleaning job is CREATED.

B. Cancel Check Task Based on Check-In Event

Question Answer
Why is a Check task canceled upon Check-In? When a PMS Check-In message is received, Optii automatically cancels any open Check tasks for that room. This prevents unnecessary work when the room is already occupied.
What is the expected behavior if a Check task is open and the room is Checked In? Optii cancels the Check task immediately and reports the room as Occupied.
What happens to incomplete Check tasks during DJC?

If a Check task was created for a VI or VC room (flipping it to PU) and the task is not completed the same day:

1. The old task is CANCELED during the Daily Job Creation (DJC).

2. A new Check job is CREATED for the new day.

C. Cancel Check Task When Cleaning Job Is Created

Question Answer
Why is a Check task canceled when a Cleaning job is created?

Optii cancels Check job automatically when a Departure, Stayover, or other Cleaning job (Touch up, Turndown, Correction) is created for the same room, as the room is now confirmed dirty and requires cleaning work.

Cleaning Job Creation (Departure or Stayover) on a PU Room Optii cancels the Check job and accepts the Dirty status as a new cleaning job is now the priority.
Cleaning Job Creation (Touch-up, Correction, Turndown) Optii cancels any existing Check task immediately.
