Housekeeping Automation FAQs — Linen Strip Job Type
Linen Strip — Rules & Expected Behaviour
Linen Strip is a core daily housekeeping action typically handled by Housemen. This new feature adds Linen Strip as an official housekeeping job type in Optii to ensure full workload visibility, proper task tracking, and accurate operational reporting.
A. Linen Strip - Job Creation and Visibility
| Question | Answer |
| What is a Linen Strip job? | Linen Strip is a core daily action where Housemen enter rooms before Room Attendants to remove used linen and trash. Optii now includes this as an available housekeeping job type. |
| Where can I create a Linen Strip job? | Linen Strip is a selectable job action available under Add Job > Housekeeping in Optii. |
| How does Linen Strip appear in the job list? | When adding a job, the order of housekeeping job types is now: Departure, Stayover, Inspection, Check, Touch Up, Turndown, Correction, and Linen Strip (last in the list). |
| What fields can be configured for a Linen Strip task? | Linen Strip tasks allow configuration of all standard fields available to other housekeeping jobs, including: Location, Credit value, Duration, Time frame, Mark as Rush, Department, Role, Team Member, and Add-ons. |
B. Job Configuration and Assignment
| Question | Answer |
| How are Linen Strip jobs configured and assigned? | In Settings > Job Settings > Job Scheduling $ Linen strip, these jobs behave like other housekeeping types, using identical setup, display, and assignment logic. |
| Can Linen Strip jobs be included in workload planning? | Yes. Credits and duration are counted toward workload reporting, allowing Operations to include them in daily schedules, shift plans, and reports without additional configuration. |
C. Task Cancellation and Rollover
| Question | Answer |
| When are Incomplete Linen Strip jobs canceled? | Incomplete Linen Strip jobs are automatically canceled each day during the Daily Job Creation (DJC) rollover to prevent duplicate jobs from rolling over to the next day. |
| Which statuses are canceled by DJC? | Linen Strip tasks with status Not Started, Started but not ended, or Unassigned will be canceled. |
| What happens to canceled tasks after DJC? | Canceled tasks are recreated by DJC as unassigned tasks for the new day. |
| What happens to Paused Linen Strip tasks? | Paused Linen Strip tasks will be flipped to Unassigned rather than canceled, following the same logic as cleaning jobs. |
| When is a Linen Strip job canceled by a Room Attendant's action? | If a room has both a cleaning job and a Linen Strip job, the Linen Strip associated with the room will be canceled when the Room Attendant (RA) starts the cleaning task. |
