Housekeeping Automation FAQs — Optii NEW Housekeeping Room Moves
Reservation Room Moves – Rules & Expected Behaviour
Overview
Optii Housekeeping now includes automation rules that ensure room and task statuses are always aligned with the PMS. This is critical for accurate operational reporting and workload planning.
Optii reacts to PMS messages and automatically cancels or adjusts tasks to prevent redundant or conflicting workload, as the PMS is always considered the source of truth.
Reservation Room Moves in Optii
This table details how Optii handles a Reservation Room Move message received from the PMS based on the current status of the existing Stayover Job.
| Stayover Job Status (Before Room Move) | Optii's Action | Resulting Job Status |
| "Not Started" and Assigned to a Room Attendant | The existing Stayover job is CANCELED. | A new Departure job is created, but it remains UNASSIGNED. (Optii will not assume the same Room Attendant should receive the new Departure task.) |
| "In Progress" | The existing Stayover job is NOT CANCELED. | A new Departure job is created. (Note: Completion of the Stayover job will not flip the room's cleaning status to avoid having the Departure task in VC status.) |
| "Done" (Room Status: Occupied Inspected) | Scenario 1: Receives clean status from PMS, then a C/O message (Change of Occupancy). | Room status changes to VD (Vacant Dirty), and a new Departure job is created. |
| Scenario 2: Receives a C/O message that includes an inspected status. | Optii accepts the IP (Inspected) status and does not create any associated cleaning task. |
