Floor Plan — Add, Edit your Location Types

Accurately representing your location types is crucial for efficient scheduling and resource management. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to add or edit location types within your Optii floor plan settings.

Important: Ensure the location type you associate with a parent location in Optii matches the corresponding hotel floor plan

Step 1 Adding a New Location Type:

  1. Access Floor Plan Settings: Navigate to "Settings" and select the "Floor Plan" tab in the left-hand menu.

Step 2 Add Location Type

Open Location Types: Click on the "Location Types" tab within the Floor Plan section. This will display all currently saved location types. To add a new one, click the blue "Add Location Type" button.

Step 3 Define Location Type Details

Define Location Type Details: For new room types, provide the following information:

    • Name: A clear and descriptive name for the room type (e.g., "Carpark," "Lobby," "Outdoor Spaces").
    • Code: Add the code for your Location Type, for example CP for Carpark or OS for Outdoor Spaces.
    • Note (Room Type Description): A brief description of the room type, including any relevant details (e.g., "20 cars," "Guest space" "Pool, Restaurants and more").

Save New Location ype: Click the blue "Add" button in the bottom right corner. The new location type will now appear in your floor plan and be available for association with specific locations.

Step 4 Editing an Existing Location Type:

  1. Access Floor Plan Settings: As with adding, go to "Settings" and then click on the "Floor Plan" tab.
  2. Open Room Types: Click the "Location Types" tab. You'll see the list of existing Location Types. To edit one, click the pencil icon next to the room type you wish to modify.
  3. Modify Room Type Details: Update the name, code, or description as needed.
  4. Save Changes: Click the "Update" button (or similar) to save your modifications.

Step 5 Assigning a Location Type to a Location:

  1. Click on 'Add Location' or Edit a Location: Click on the desired location on the floor plan.

  1. Add or Edit the Location Details: In the location details view that appears on the left-hand side, click the pencil icon.
  2. Choose Location Type: Select the appropriate location type from the dropdown menu.

  1. Add or Update Location Assignment: Click the blue "Add" or "Update" button at the bottom of the page to save the location type assignment.
