Configuration: Opera Interface Setup for Queue Rooms

How to configure Opera Business Events for Optii rush rooms

To automatically trigger rush rooms in Optii Housekeeping from Opera, configure two Business Events — NEW QUEUE ROOM and DELETE QUEUE ROOM — under the OPTIIBE external system and HOUSEKEEPING module in Opera's Business Events Configuration. Once configured, adding a room to the Opera Queue automatically sets it as a rush room in Optii, and removing it cancels the rush status, reducing guest wait times and the need for manual communication between departments.

This guide outlines the required configuration steps in Opera. These steps can be performed by any hotel-based IT person with configuration credentials in Opera.

Step 1.

Log onto the Opera Full Service with Permissions for Configuration.

Step 2. 

Click on 'Configuration' which will display the Login Picture below and Click [Login].

Step 3: Navigate to Business Events Configuration

1. Click Setup and scroll down to Business Events.
2. Click Configuration as shown below.
3. Click Search. The following screen is displayed:

Step 4.

On the next screen, click on 'External System' drop-down and select "OPTIIBE" and [OK]

On the 'Module' drop-down select "HOUSEKEEPING" and click [OK]

Now click on [SEARCH] and the following screen will be displayed

Step 5.

Click on [New] and on the next screen click on the 'Business Event' drop-down and select "NEW QUEUE ROOM" and click [OK].

Step 6: Apply all elements for NEW QUEUE ROOM

1. Click All, then click OK.

Step 7.

Click on 'New' and on the next screen click on the 'Business Event' drop-down and select "DELETE QUEUE ROOM" and click [OK].

Step 8: Apply all elements and complete configuration

1. Click All, then click OK.
2. Click Close.

Your system is now configured to send both a NEW QUEUE ROOM event and a DELETE QUEUE ROOM event to Optii. When a room is added to the Opera Queue, Optii will automatically mark it as a rush room. When a room is removed from the Queue, Optii will remove the rush status.
