How to create Assets with Optii Projects

Learn how easy it is to add or edit your assets in Optii

Available with any of the following subscriptions:

  • Service
  • Projects (Preventative Maintenance)
  • Above Property Dashboard

By this point, you should already know how to add or edit your floor plan and how to create jobs in Optii, in which case, you are now ready to learn the steps to create and manage your assets.

Step 1 

Go to your Asset Tab located under Job Settings to Add or Edit your Assets locations, names, and types.

 

Step 2

To Add a New Asset Type

  • Create the job that will be linked to the asset itself. Remember, you are creating an asset in Optii because you might want to work on it eventually - Standalone jobs, Repeating jobs, or Projects.
  • Located on the right-hand side of the screen you will find two options: Add Asset Type & Add Asset. In this art of the article, we will focus on how to Add an Asset type.

    Add Asset type - This option will allow you to create a brand new asset to your collection of assets within Optii. You will need to add a job item/category created ahead of this step (create jobs in Optii) - For this example, we have created a job named 'Boiler':


    As for the name, Brand, Model, Service Cycle, Asset Life, etc. - The users are free to add the information as needed. The only required item is the name of the asset, as this is how it will be listed in your asset list:



    For the Brand/Manufacturer list, all you need to do is type and hit create as shown below:

          Continue to add the information as needed

Once you hit save you have created the asset type - Great Job!

 

Step 3

To Add a New Asset

Once the Asset type has been created (Step 2) you will now be able to see it on your asset asset list

Notice that the asset type isn't linked to any Asset per se, therefore you will now click on Add Asset located in the right corner of the screen

Since we already created the Asset Type called 'Boiler' it will automatically show. Once selected, it will add the previous information that has been linked to the Asset Type, as shown below:

The user will then need to add the Asset location (mandatory). Once added, you will be free to add all other Assets, Purchasing, Vendor, and Warranty information, giving the user the possibility to be as specific as possible: 


Additional Tips:

  •  It is recommended to add the item location ahead of this step. For example a Boiler Room or closet, this way the asset will be linked to this specific location.
