Understanding the New "VP" (Vacant Pickup) Status in Optii for Opera, INFOR PMS

Enhancing Efficiency with Automated Room Status Updates

We're excited to announce a significant enhancement to the Optii platform's integration with Opera & Infor PMS: the introduction of the "VP" (Vacant Pickup) room status. This update streamlines communication between your PMS and housekeeping operations, improving efficiency and accuracy.

🔍 What is the "VP" Status? 

The "VP" status, specific to Opera and or INFOR PMS, indicates that a room is vacant and requires a "pickup" – a check by housekeeping to ensure it's ready for the next guest.

When Optii receives the "VP" status from Opera, it will now:

  • Display "VP" on the Job Card: This provides immediate visual confirmation of the room's status to housekeeping staff.

  • Show "Vacant Pickup" in Job Details: A clear and concise description of the status of the room.

Optii Automation for Pickup Seamless Housekeeping Workflow Jobs

The power of this update lies in the automated integration between the PMS and Optii. Here's how it works:

  1. The PMS Sets Status to "VP": When a room's status is updated to "VP" in the PMS, this change is automatically communicated to Optii.
  2. Optii Generates a "Check" Job: Optii automatically creates a "Check" job for housekeeping, ensuring the room is promptly inspected.

  3. Housekeeping Completes the "Check" Job: Housekeeping staff performs the necessary checks and updates the job in Optii. Based on the housekeeping staff's actions in Optii, the room status in the PMS is automatically updated. 

🎯 Bonus Tip:

Manual "Check" Job Creation: If housekeeping staff manually creates a "Check" job in Optii, Optii will update the room status in the PMS to "VP" automatically.

Important Note for PMS Systems Without "Pickup" Status:

If your PMS system does not utilize the "Pickup" status, it's crucial to ensure your integration is configured correctly. Contact your Optii Success Manager to discuss your specific needs. They will assist in configuring your system to accurately reflect room status as either "Dirty" or "Clean" based on your PMS's available statuses.
