Getting Started: Opening the Timeline
To access the Timeline, it's super simple!
- Click the purple drop-down menu next to "Jobs."
- Select "Timeline."
Once the Timeline is open, you'll immediately notice some key options in the top left corner: Dates, Type of View, and Timing.
Dates: Planning Ahead
- By default, the Timeline displays today's date.
- You can easily click the date to select future dates. This allows you to proactively schedule your team and ensure your morning crew has a smooth start!
Types of Views: Simplified vs. Detailed
Optii offers two views to match your operational needs:
Simplified View:
- What it shows: A quick, high-level overview of daily assignments.
- Details: Displays each room attendant's name and their assigned credits.
- Best for: A quick snapshot of overall progress.
💡 Pro Tip: You can seamlessly switch between these views to match what you need at that moment. Need a quick credit check? The Simplified View is your go-to. Want detailed performance metrics? The Detailed View provides comprehensive insights.
Detailed View:

- What it shows: Deeper insights into performance and task distribution.
- Details: Includes room attendant names, a breakdown of credits (Departure and Stayover), cleaned room percentages, and total task counts.
- Best for: When you want detailed performance metrics.
💡 Pro Tip: Look for helpful symbols like room notes for added context!
Timing: Tailoring Your View
The "Timing" option, located next to the Simplified/Detailed View toggle, lets you adjust how often the screen refreshes and how granular your view is:
- 5-Minute View:
- What it offers: A granular, microscopic view.
- Best for: Tracking individual room durations in detail.
- 15-Minute View:
- What it offers: The most practical option for daily operations and task management.
- 60-Minute View:
- What it offers: A high-level overview.
- Best for: Quickly assessing overall progress and seeing all room cards (cleaned, in progress, or not yet started) at a glance.
💡 Tip: You can customize your view by combining the Timing options (5, 15, or 60 minutes) with either the Simplified or Detailed View to get the exact level of insight you need!
Understanding the Screen: What You See
The Timeline is designed to give you real-time visual cues:
- Top Display: Shows the current time based on your property's time zone, helping you assess task durations.
Example: If a housekeeper started cleaning room 301 around 4:30 PM and finished a little past 5:30 PM, you'll see this visually represented on the timeline.
💡 Pro Tip
Red Line: This line indicates the exact current time and moves to the right as time progresses.
- It also simulates Move Around Time (MAT), which is the transition period between rooms (from when a Housekeeper finishes one room until they start the next).
- The red line will continue moving to the right for rooms that have not yet started cleaning, helping you track real-time progress.
Gaps Between Room Cards: These represent the transition times—the time it takes for a Room Attendant to move from one room to another. This gap will appear larger or smaller depending on the actual travel time.

Rooms Tab: Detailed Room Information
Clicking the "Rooms Tab" opens a panel on the right side of your screen, displaying crucial information:
- Room Number
- Room Type
- Current Room Status
How to use it:
- Use filters and arrows to easily find specific rooms.
- Click a room number to view all associated jobs for that room.
Filtering and Customization
Optii makes it easy to tailor your view!

Filter Option: Use the filter in the top right corner to customize your view by:
- Locations
- Departments
- Roles
- Team Members
Full-Screen Option: Need to increase your computer view? The full-screen option maximizes your viewing area, giving you more space to work!
Quick Actions and Overviews
Optii also provides quick access to key operational views:
- Clear Jobs: If you need to clear jobs, Optii will give you the option to pick and choose specific tasks to clear.
- View Unassigned Jobs: Just click on the 'View unassigned jobs' option to see:
- How many guest rooms have not yet been assigned for cleaning.
- A breakdown of how many jobs of each task type are unassigned (Departures, Stayovers, Turndowns, Touch-ups, and/or Corrections).
- View Pending Inspections: You can also easily view your pending inspections or check on your inspectors' status.
- Assign/Unassign Team Members: Click on the "Team Member" button in the top right corner (next to 'View unassigned jobs') to assign or unassign team members in the roster.
